From 1971 to 2003, Veterans Stadium (aka "the Vet") served as the beloved home of baseball`s Philadelphia Phillies and witnessed some of the team`s most memorable moments. This anthology presents two documentaries celebrating the remarkable legacy of Phillies baseball at the Vet. Narrated by team owner Bill Giles, FIELD OF MEMORIES utilizes personal interviews with former players and fans to recount the stadium`s history since its opening day on April 10, 1971. Meanwhile, THE FINAL INNINGS revisits the Phillies` last game at Veterans Stadium on September 28, 2003, with exclusive footage of the emotional closing ceremonies narrated by Harry Kalas, the Phillies` longtime announcer. In addition, bonus footage captures the demolition of the Vet on March 21, 2004, for a final goodbye to the building that was much more than concrete and steel in the hearts of most Philadelphians.
