As much of a success story the 2007 season was, it was also a major transition time for West Virginia football. The Mountaineers faced many obstacles throughout the year from dealing with the national limelight and handling adversity in tough losses, to staying focused and coming together in the end. In many ways, 2007 was a trying yet very successful time. The season proved what can be accomplished by maintaining focus despite what outside factors are occurring. From August to January, West Virginia football withstood a lot of blows, but a resilient group of young men kept the program moving forward. An entire nation seemed against them, but deep in their own world, the 2007 Mountaineers knew what they were capable of. No team had more success in 2007, yet no team suffered more adversity.
