Transitions were handled effectively. The foundation of West Virginia football continues to be strong, and now it will move forward in search of another BIG EAST championship. The winning ways continued in 2008 because a group of men bonded as a family.
A football family is the Mountaineer way. Never leave your teammate, and never let distractions take away from the team. Detractors tried to rattle this group, but they had no idea how tough this team was and how big the hearts were of its 19 seniors.
Captains Pat White, Mortty Ivy, Pat McAfee, Ryan Stanchek and Tito Gonzales along with the rest of the seniors refused to go out any other way but winners. The showed that in the end, poise under pressure wins every time.
